We were finally able to leave hibernation and hike our way through the trees and over hills. Tai was happy to be out of the house, and we were too. 18 degree weather is not our usual for winters in Tennessee, so cabin fever was beginning to take hold. But, this day we went out. We hiked miles. We witnessed the forest in her winter time sleepiness. Some glimpses of stirring, but mostly a gentle hush that wrapped itself around us as we stretched our limbs, too long holed up in doors.
